The Moles Are Back

This week will see the contractors move off site and hopefully hand back the section ready for track laying.  In advance of this we have been giving the screener a work-out, so far so good.  Glyn W has been active with the JCB and bucket keeping the machine fed.  Here is Glyn in mid scoop with the mixture ready to be loaded to the screener.

As you can see the screener is moving along the trackbed and the piles behind it are growing, it's those elephant moles back again!
Here is an action shot of the output end with the segregated piles building up.
Meanwhile the contractors continue with the tidying up operations ready to leave the site
Thanks to Andy G for the pictures.  There is considerable excitement and anticipation now as we wind up to restart work on the trackbed.  Muscles are already being flexed with preparatory work so why not come along to see or better still join in.

For future events we are gearing up for the winter season with our popular Santa Specials in December and a couple of open days before.  As well as the usual volunteer sessions on Thursdays and weekends there is a Big Working Weekend on the 20th/21st October at which it is hoped work will restart on the extension.

The CHR AGM will take place on the 10th November in the afternoon, all members invited.

Until next time.
