North of the Bridge

As the sign says we are now ready to go, looking towards Oswestry we will take a very short trip along the regarded line, starting at the sleeper stack.

Just beyond the sleeper stack is the concrete cap of the sewer crossing, now safely embedded under a concrete protection shield. The sides of the line will soon return to nature softening the effect, eventually even the gabions will merge in to the lineside.
At the end of the currently available section is the Gasworks Bridge, still having some work done on the steelwork.  This will be completed very soon and the fencing removed to allow us to progress to Weston.

A helmet has been left on the ladder, so someone will return!
Could it be the same person who left their gloves??  Maybe someone was in a real hurry to leave site that day.  Evidence of the sand blasting is all around with the steps taking on a new colour, or is this the new anti-slip coating?
Guy N again with the pictures, many thanks.

Now we have trackbed, ballast and sleepers.  Next steps are to assemble this in to a working railway.  Do you fancy lending a hand?

Until next time.
