The Thursday twilight shift was in action again and following the recent updates ran the screener for a while. Tim created a time-lapse video which you can see here
Thanks to Tim for creating the video and to Kevin and Colin who also helped with running the screener.
Colin also took some pictures of the machine in action. First take your bucket full of material and deposit in the hopper.
With a bit of material in the hopper start the engine and begin the lift by conveyor up to the head.
Here is proof that the screener does it's job. Larger stones at the front and earth to the rear, with added dust all round!
Here is the head in action with the ballast falling forward into piles ready for re-use
Repeat the above steps until the pile has gone.
Here is a pile we made earlier, gosh those Oswestry moles do make exceedingly large molehills!
By the end of the evening another issue had surfaced but the team are confident that it can be rectified pretty quickly.
There are still many hours of screening to complete the extension but now that the machines are working in harmony it will relieve the P.Way team of dong the job manually.
Until next time
