Thursday Gang (1)

The Thursday Gang worked on many fronts with the outdoor team working on the sleeper pile behind Travis Perkins.  It seemed like old times as they got back in to the swing of prepping sleepers for the extension.  No longer is the pile in reach of Buffers so it needs planning and coordination for the all important tea breaks.

This week Guy N and Andy took pictures so we start with Guy's set.  Here at the back of Travis Perkins and just after the Gasworks Bridge excavations the team set to with sorting and overhauling sleepers.

 For those chair screws which can be worked on by hand we have the traditional manual tools.

 Those that require an added incentive to move are given some 'encouragement'

It's much more fun to watch somebody else do the job...

 The completed sleepers are then stacked ready for track laying.

 Those that need final tightening are dealt with.

The final view is looking back towards Oswestry and in a few short weeks this view should change dramatically as the head of steel marches on to Weston.
